The Advisory Board of interpack 2023 has elected Markus Rustler, Managing Partner of Theegarten-Pactec GmbH & Co. KG, as President and thus Chairman of the committee at its constituent meeting. Rustler was already Vice President of the last interpack, which could not take place due to the pandemic.
In addition Christian Traumann, Managing Director and Group CFO of the Multivac Sepp Haggenmüller SE & Co, KG and Roland StrassburgerCEO of the Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA as the Vice Presidents of the upcoming interpack elected. All candidates were elected unanimously.
Markus Rustler, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Packaging Machinery Division in the VDMA is in the tradition of his father Erhard Rustler, who was President of interpack in 2008 and 2011. „I am delighted that I have been entrusted with the office of interpack President. The next edition of the trade fair will be a very special one. After all, companies in the international packaging and related process industries had to cancel the last edition of their most important trade fair due to the pandemic and can now hardly wait to meet their customers live and in person and generate new leads,“ says Rustler.
Strategic orientation of interpack 2023 begins
In addition, the major topics of the interpack shadows ahead - above all the Sustainability complex. „The packaging industry is under particular public scrutiny when it comes to sustainability, but it also has to deal with Approaches to the circular economy, steady increasing resource efficiency and intelligent use of materials effective instruments for making a significant contribution to Improvement of the situation available“, comments Vice President Straßburger, who is also President of the Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen (IK).
The first meeting of the Advisory Board marks the the phase of strategic orientation and concrete preparations for the upcoming interpack. It will take place from 4 to 10 May 2023 at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. The supplier trade fair „components - special trade fair by interpack“ will once again be organised in parallel to interpack at a central location at the exhibition centre.
