At Snackex in Hamburg, Ishida will be showcasing its fully integrated iTPS snack packaging system, which combines weighing, bagging and quality control.
The highly competitive snack market demands production systems that are both powerful and flexible. Ishida has therefore developed the iTPS (integrated Total Packaging System) packaging system. It combines a high-performance CCW-RV multihead weigher with the Inspira vertical form-fill-seal flow-wrapping machine.which is specially designed for snack products and is the fastest of its kind in the world.
Both machines are optimally harmonised and have a central control system. Line speeds of up to 130 bags per minute for potato crisps and up to 200 bags per minute for extruded snacks can be achieved. Users also benefit from high weight accuracy and packaging quality.

Flexible tubular bag packaging
The Inspira integrated flow-wrapping machine processes a wide variety of film types and packaging formats such as tubular, gusseted, stand-up and chain bags. Automatic centring and clamping functions ensure consistent and reliable production.
The servo-controlled sealing takes place at high pressure and precise sealing jaw temperature. Product inclusions in the sealing seams are prevented by a stripping mechanism and detection on the sealing jaws. Vacuum pumps ensure a precisely defined volume of air in the snack pouches. Quick product changes are made by calling up 500 presets.
Ishida shows the iTPS on the Snackex with a downstream TSC-RS seal seam tester. The System performs a pressure and fill level check of the packagingThe test plate is used to detect leaks with a diameter of just 3 mm. Before the quality check, the bags are gently smoothed by brushes and a servo control minimises the vibrations of the test plate for optimum contact with the packaging. The pressure test is carried out in such a controlled manner that neither the bags nor their contents are damaged.
