Under its trade fair motto „Creating Change Together“, Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH, manufacturer of extrusion blow moulding machines, will be demonstrating a closed plastics cycle in cooperation with the Brazilian plastics group Braskem and the plastics recycler Erema.
At the stand of the Bonn-based company Kautex visitors can experience the sustainable Production of a three-layer bottle with PCR content on an all-electric KBB60 blow moulding machine in live operation. The extrusion blow moulding machine used is equipped with new heads to achieve a faster colour and material change and at the same time eliminate the time-consuming rinsing and cleaning as well as the Minimise material shrinkage.
The bottle produced has a Foamed centre layer made of polyethylene and PCR, the proportion of raw materials could be reduced and, as a result, the CO2 footprint reduced become. Further development in the use of recycled material plays an important role. The raw material for the Braskem material comes from sugar cane, the PCR material from material that has already been recycled. Thanks to the partnership with Erema, the cycle is closed at the trade fair: The bottles produced at Kautex from Braskem material are collected by Erema and then sent to Erema in the „Circonomic Centre“ - outdoor area between Halls 11 and 15 - for recycling. Every step in the recycling process will be demonstrated.
