Today, millions of PET bottles are recycled with MetaPure systems from Krones AG in Neutraubling, Germany, in various material qualities up to PET for foodstuffs, depending on requirements. Thanks to its holistic approach, the technology is gradually being extended to other types of plastic.

The MetaPure W washing modules can already be used for processing polyolefins. The pre-washing component of the module will be on show at the stand. For turnkey factories, Krones co-operates closely with Stadler plant engineering, market leader in sorting systems. Experts will be providing information on synergy effects and complete solutions at the trade fair stand.

With the Contiform stretch blow moulding machine preforms with a Recyclate content of up to 100 per cent process. The High-speed version Contiform 3 Speed can be seen at the stand with a blow moulding station. With up to 2,750 containers per hour, it produces customised packaging for still water, CSD and sensitive products. Energy and compressed air consumption has been further reduced by up to 15 per cent.

Krones subsidiary Dekron is demonstrating the high-quality printing of recycled containers and the complete recycling of printed containers with a laboratory machine based on the technology the direct printing machine DecoType Select based. It prints containers made of 100 per cent rPET at the trade fair stand, which are not lost in the recycling cycle. Because as APR, the US company Association of Plastic Recyclers, certified back in 2018, the ink used can be removed from the PET without leaving any residue during the recycling process.
