Sustainability and sorted disposal, digitalisation and lean processes, global trade and e-commerce: REA Elektronik offers suitable solutions for the ever-changing expectations of manufacturers, retailers and consumers in the packaging world and, together with its experts, also looks ahead to anticipate developments in the industry:

Such as the 2-D checkout code, which is set to gradually replace the 1-D EAN code from 2027. As digital product labelling, it should also be able to provide the entire chain from production to logistics to retail with the necessary information and also enable direct communication with the end consumer. Manufacturers and retailers around the world are beginning to convert their systems to the new labelling. REA Electronics is a GS1 Solution Partner and can support you with its technologies.

The REA-Jet HR inkjet printer writes label content inline and "wet-on-wet" directly onto films or smooth surfaces (see image). The new technology is used to apply codes and plain text to transparent and dark surfaces. To do this, the inkjet printer, which is equipped with a double print head, first creates a white ink layer. It then immediately writes black or, optionally, coloured ink onto this before the two dry together. The elimination of labels and their carrier film reduces the amount of waste The packaging can be disposed of by type after use and is easier to recycle.

Direct printing with the new generation of the REA Jet GK 2.0 high-resolution inkjet printer makes it possible to dispense with labels for secondary packaging. It is flexible and captive and can print on absorbent and porous surfaces such as cardboard, paper or wood. With both static and variable information, it prints freely combinable texts, logos and graphics. Piezo technology ensures print results with razor-sharp edges at print heights of up to 100 millimetres with just one print head. Like all coding technologies in the REA Jet product line, these devices are also fully Industry 4.0-capable and can be easily integrated into production thanks to their compact design.

The new REA Verifier VeriMax Mobile is designed for mobile use in production, laboratories, incoming goods and quality assurance. It checks the quality of 1-D and 2-D codes in accordance with international standards, GS1 and other specifications to ensure high first read rates.

Labels are used in particular where non-contact labelling technologies are not a sufficient solution. REA Elektronik will be showcasing various solutions and materials from its REA Label product line for industrial labelling, in particular the pallet labeller and the servo labeller. The REA-Label five-colour label printer is a new addition to the range. The high-performance system was developed for the consistent production of effective labels. At speeds of up to nine metres per minute, it prints runs from a single label to several thousand labels in all sizes. Like all printing systems in the REA Label product line, it obtains its data from the Loftware NiceLabel software.
