Watch the latest live talk from packaging journal and interpack again here. The topic: New materials and the opportunities and challenges associated with them.

The search for sustainable packaging materials is in full swing. But once a new material has been found, developers are faced with further challenges: Can the material run on the machines and what about disposal and recycling?

THE TOPIC

New materials & resource conservation

Opportunities, chances, challenges

We discussed these and other issues affecting the industry live with experts on the topic of „Conserving resources and new materials“. The focus was on Challenges, opportunities and potential of new packaging materials.

We look at the raw materials that can be used for packaging materials and what the next step is in terms of runability on the packaging machines. It continues with the consumer: How important is the communication on the packaging for new materials and what should you look out for? What does disposal and recycling look like in the end? What is already possible here and what is still to come?

We discussed the issue with packaging analyst Sonja Bähr from Tilisco, Founder Anne Lamp from traceless, Head of „Made for Recycling“ at interseroh+ Julian Thielen and Managing Director for packaging machines for the food, beverage, cosmetics and chemical industries Heiko Kühne from Optima Packaging.
