Future-proof solutions for efficient intralogistics

Over 1,650 international exhibitors will be showcasing innovations and future-proof solutions for intralogistics at LogiMAT from 10 to 12 March 2020.

From 10 to 12 March 2020, over 1,650 international exhibitors will be showcasing the latest innovations and future-proof solutions for intelligent control of modern intralogistics processes at LogiMAT, the 18th International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management.

Packaging industry and AutoID sector are facing fundamentally new market requirements with regard to Sustainability and climate neutrality of their products and solutions. At LogiMAT 2020 in Stuttgart, the international manufacturers in the two exhibition areas will therefore also be showcasing the latest products and concepts for optimised CO2-footprint of their customers.

The Manufacturer of packaging and packaging machinesHowever differentiated their range of solutions may be, they face exciting challenges: After the record year of 2018, in which machine manufacturers, for example, achieved the highest growth of the past decade with an increase of eight per cent and a turnover of 7.1 billion euros, the VDMA Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association for the past year moderate increase of no more than two per cent. The situation is hardly any different for packaging and packaging material manufacturers. For example, the Corrugated board industry already forecast growth for 2018 of only 0.6 per cent and thus fell well short of the forecast growth rate of 3.9 per cent.

"In addition to the safety aspect and increasing digital networking of smartphones and smart packaging, the sustainability aspect is becoming a key driver for the solutions with which the packaging industry wants to generate additional volume," explains LogiMAT Exhibition Director Michael Ruchty from the Munich-based organiser Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress-GmbH. "There is hardly any other exhibition sector that is undergoing such a significant change as the packaging segment."

Sustainability has already emerged as a strong trend in the packaging industry in recent years. Environmental compatibility and multi-purpose suitability are increasingly characterising consumer behaviour and challenging manufacturers. At LogiMAT, exhibitors in Halls 4 and 6 will be presenting their latest developments in sustainable packaging solutions.

Platform for intralogistics

"The topic of digitalisation has now arrived in companies," says Michael Ruchty.  "However, many companies are hesitant when it comes to the concrete implementation of digital transformation, as a large number of current studies show. Many decision-makers are not yet clear about where the journey is heading when it comes to technological developments. They have a great need for information and are therefore reluctant to invest in the solutions on offer."

Against this backdrop, LogiMAT sees itself as a Platform for intralogisticsThe exhibitors will present a cross-section of the current range of solutions with their exhibits - including numerous world premieres. At the same time, the supporting programme with more than 30 specialist forums offers, exciting live events and more than 100 exhibitor presentations a comprehensive range of information for the future-proof orientation of intralogistics.

With over 1,650 exhibitorsmore companies are represented this year than ever before. The number of international exhibitors rose by a further five per cent compared to the previous year to 495 companies. For the three days of the fair, the organiser is expecting more than 65,000 trade visitors.

Digitalised retail and logistics processes

A new feature is the positioning of the TradeWorld information platform. In the East Entrance area, it forms the centrepiece, so to speak, of those exhibitors who Special solutions for digitalisation and automation of retail processes. And since autonomous, driverless transport vehicles (AGVs) are becoming increasingly important, the mobile transport and picking robots a separate exhibition area was set up in Hall 2 for the first time.
