Marbach develops two-part protective plate

The Marbach Group specialises in high-performance tools and digital solutions for die-cutting packaging. The company has now developed a two-part protective plate for large-format corrugated board die-cutting machines.

The Marbach Group, a global manufacturer of die-cutting tools and technologies for die-cutting packaging, specialises in high-performance tools and digital solutions. A popular machine upgrade for Marbach customers is the DZL|plate digital zone leveller.

This protective plate is customised with an imprinted height profile and thus adapted to the respective conditions of the punching machine. The DZL|plate thus takes over the machine's zone make-ready. This reduces the knife set-up times for each individual job.

Bernhard Reisser, sector manager for the folding carton industry at Marbach: „We have already successfully established the DZL|plate digital zone leveller on the market for several years. Since this year, we have also been offering a second version, the DZL|plateXL. With its two-part protective plate explicitly for large-format corrugated board die-cutting machines developed.“

Height compensation potential of up to 0.15 millimetres

The digital zone compensation compensates for height differences in the die-cutting platen area - with a maximum height compensation potential of up to 0.15 millimetres. In this way, it not only ensures optimum pressure conditions during die-cutting, but also ensures Reduction in knife dressing times.

Reisser continues: „Our customers are enthusiastic about this technology and confirm a reduction in punching pressure of 15 to 30 per cent as well as set-up time savings of well over 30 per cent per order. Many of our customers have now equipped their entire machine fleet with digital zone levelling and have thus become significantly more efficient in the preparation of their orders. Especially in these fast-moving times, this significant increase in performance means a clear competitive advantage for our customers.“
