Marchesini acquired a 48 per cent stake in the SEA Vision Group back in 2018. Marchesini has now acquired 100 per cent of the group. The company aims to create a link between mechanical engineering, robotics software, digitalisation and AI.
The Marchesini Group announces the acquisition of 100 per cent of the SEA Vision Group announced today. Following the acquisition, Pietro Cassani, Chief Executive Officer of the Marchesini Group, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors of SEA Vision Group, which will also include Michele Cei, co-founder of the company, who will continue in the role of CEO. With this strategic decision and in line with its usual policy, the new corporate structure will not affect the SEA Vision Group's expansion planwhich forecasts sales of over 50 million euros for 2022.
"We have been involved in Industry 4.0 for more than 20 years, long before it became a hot topic. The entry of SEA Vision Group into the Marchesini Group will allow us to develop packaging lines that are even more integrated with vision and inspection systems in order to guarantee our customers ever better performance and a high degree of personalisation."

"After years of strategic partnership, we are today finalising our entry into the Marchesini Group: this operation will provide the SEA Vision Group with the best conditions for growth on international markets and will further boost our already strong development ambitions. All the projects on which we are working flat out to bring new products with AI technologies to the market, such as line clearance or in the areas of vision and traceability, will be continued with even greater vigour. We will also maintain our commercial independence - in other words, our identity."
Michele CeiCEO of the SEA Vision Group
The takeover is part of a long-term strategy that aims to further expand the Marchesini Group's controlled integrate engineering companies with some of Italy's leading software and vision companies. As part of this strategy, the SEA Vision Group recently acquired the AI specialist ARGO Vision, while the Marchesini Group completed the acquisition of Proteo Engineering, a specialist in industrial automation, and Auteco, a provider of solutions for automation, process control and the digitalisation of workflows.
"By managing the complex dynamics associated with the digitalisation of production processes internally, we want to combine mechanical engineering with robotics and software and manufacturing with digitalisation and AI."
