The range of events and networking opportunities for members of the Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e.V. has grown steadily in recent years. In order to take account of this change in terms of personnel, Oliver Berndt is now taking over as Head of Events & Marketing at the dvi.

Berndt, a trained packaging technologist, already held a position of responsibility at the dvi from 2006 to 2018 and also brings a wealth of experience to the company. Experience and contacts from his time as an event manager for associationsHe has worked as an assistant to the management in a supplier to the printing and packaging industry and as an employee and partner in a management consultancy.
"We regret the departure of our previous event manager Maria Lindenhain, who wanted to change careers at her own request after six years of intensive and outstanding work for the dvi. In Oliver Berndt, we have found a proven industry expert who is far more than just a successor. He has the packaging DNA, shares our philosophy and knows the dvi inside out. With his expertise, Oliver Berndt will concentrate fully on events and thus on important added value for our members. We look forward to his independent and agile work."

The dvi has continuously expanded its range of services for its members over the past two years and several new info formats on game-changer topics in the industry and the activities of European regulators introduced. The Seminar programme of the dvi Packaging Academy and the working groups for member companies are being strengthened expanded. With the German Packaging Congress, the German Packaging Award, the Day of Packaging, the Dresden Packaging Conference, the dvi Student Conference and the Packaging Strategies Forum, the dvi is also responsible for annual key events in the industry.
