Mauser: Containers for medical waste from post-consumer recyclates

Mauser Packaging Solutions has presented the first container for medical waste made entirely from post-consumer recyclate. The Brühl-based company has already won the "NENnovation Award" from the Dutch NEN Institute for Standardisation for the "WIVA Infinity Container".

Mauser Packaging Solutions from Brühl has presented the first container for medical waste made entirely from household waste. With the new "WIVA Infinity Container" (photo), Mauser has already won its third prize at the "NENnovation Award" of the Dutch NEN Institute for Standardisation.

The new containers combine the advantages of the particularly safe Disposal of hazardous medical waste and the use of recycled plastic waste, emphasises Mauser. The CO2-footprint of the containers is reduced by half compared to products made from new plastic.

The new development complements the existing waste bins in the product line. The "WIVA Infinity Container" are available with capacities of 30, 50 and 90 litres.

Mauser cooperated with QCP and SUEZ

In the development of the recyclate plastic for problematic medical waste, the company cooperated with Mauser with QCP (Quality Circular Polymers) and SUEZ. The new product concept was successfully tested in accordance with the UN protocols for handling dangerous goods. The "WIVA Infinity Containers" now also have all the certificates required for use and transport on the Dutch market.
