Against the careless discarding of packaging: Fast-food giant McDonald's Germany wants to encourage its customers to throw their rubbish away with precision. Special baskets have been developed for this purpose.
Into the bin instead of on the street: the national campaign „Gib Müll ’nen Korb“ (Give rubbish a basket) motivates McDonald's over the next few weeks to encourage the correct disposal of waste and emphasise its commitment to a clean restaurant environment.
As part of the activation for the McDrive, selected pilot restaurants will receive specially designed litter bins that playfully and entertainingly encourage people to throw litter away accurately.
In addition, all restaurants in Germany will be equipped with new advertising materials to generate more visibility for guests and visitors on site. The company is also drawing attention to this important topic on its social media channels and in cooperation with influencer Aaron Troschke.
Next stop on the packaging timetable
„Gib Müll ‘nen Korb“ is the continuation of McDonald's commitment in Germany to combat carelessly discarded waste. The company has been working on its strategic packaging roadmap since 2019 to continuously reduce plastic and packaging waste. For example, by switching from cardboard to wrapping paper, up to 70 per cent of packaging material can be saved for selected products.
