Mespack machines process sustainable closures

A Spanish machine manufacturer and a US injection moulding specialist are cooperating on the market launch of a sustainable solution for flexible packaging: Hoffer's lightweight P-15 closure can now be processed on Mespack's horizontal flow-wrapping machines.

The P-15 cap has been redesigned: It is now lighter and contains 20 per cent less plastic. Above all, however, it has been redesigned, that it is compatible with recyclable monomaterials. The Mespack machines have also been adapted for operation with various recyclable material structures.

In addition, the versatile Mespack model H180FE, which is installed in the new Dow Pack Studios in Freeport, Texas (USA), converted for processing the new P-15 fastener. Numerous tests can now be carried out on the system, for example with recyclable material.
