It is a sustainable collaboration in the truest sense of the word. Packaging group mondi has teamed up with Austrian meat producer Hütthaler. The result is a fully recyclable film made from mono-material.

The film consists of a monomaterial solution that can be fully recycled and provides a barrier to protect the food and extend its shelf life. The independent institute for recyclability and product responsibility cyclos-HTP has awarded this film the highest classification „AAA“.

Quality and presentation should not suffer

Hütthaler's requirement was to replace the previously used film with a recyclable solution. The company was looking for a more sustainable approach that would not compromise the quality or attractive presentation of the food.

Hütthaler approached Mondi in order to an alternative to develop. With its customer-centred EcoSolutions approach, Mondi was able to reinvent packaging for Hütthaler by maintaining optimal functionality while replacing less sustainable packaging, reducing raw material consumption and designing recyclable packaging.
