Mondi has worked with a European online fashion retailer to develop a range of packaging solutions tailored to the needs of e-commerce. A combination of corrugated boxes and paper-based MailerBags are now being used to transport fashion items across Europe.
Mondi became the exclusive Packaging suppliers for one of Europe's largest fashion companies appointed. Following a product trial earlier this year, the packaging and paper company will support the online retailer Modivo in switching from the rigid standard packaging currently used to distribute the entire collection.
When analysing a customer's packaging requirements, Mondi reviews the total cost of ownership (TCO) and includes every touchpoint in the supply chain. The Mondi's customer-orientated EcoSolutions approach is focussed on responding to customer needs and carefully examining all possible solutions.
"We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution. Every customer has a unique product mix with different logistics requirements. When working with a customer, our focus is on lowering overall packaging costs, reducing waste and meeting the needs of the end consumer. This means that our customers can choose the most valuable packaging solutions for them, from kraft papers and functional barrier papers to paper bags and corrugated cardboard solutions."

Mondi's portfolio offers fit-for-purpose Solutions that use less space and material and at the same time protect the goods on their way to our customers. This change is not only more environmentally friendly and cost-effective for our company, but also reflects our commitment to meeting our customers' expectations and constantly improving their experience."
For Modivo, the optimisation of the packaging portfolio was based on the products shipped and has resulted in the majority of orders now using the innovative MailerBags from Mondi. These fully reusable and recyclable paper bags are available in three designsto protect products without transporting too much air.
