Mondi has expanded its FunctionalBarrier Paper range to offer its customers the right packaging for different applications. The paper-based packaging has different barrier properties and can replace non-recyclable packaging.
Thanks to the extensive research and development activities of Mondi, now offers its customers a complete range of FunctionalBarrier Paper. Thanks to the Application of various barrier technologies such as extrusion coatings, aqueous coatings and other very high barriers this range of paper-based packaging solutions is fit for purpose and can be used for a variety of applications.
The solution with medium barrier, developed for industrial, e-commerce and personal care packaging, offers high tightness and medium water vapour protection, while the high barrier paper offers a medium oxygen and water vapour barrier as well as a high grease and mineral oil barrier for frozen food and chocolate. The very high barrier solution for consumer goods such as coffee, cereals and confectionery offers product protection against water vapour and oxygen and ensures a long shelf life.
The advantage of Mondi's integrated value chain is that the Production of the FunctionalBarrier Paper range entirely in-house. The solutions are designed to be recyclable in paper streams across Europe and utilise responsibly sourced base material. They offer Renewable alternatives to plastic laminates and aluminium-based multi-material packaging.
