Nespresso has been awarded B-Corp certification for its high standards of sustainability and social responsibility. This means that the company is now part of an international movement of over 4,500 companies that are committed to sustainability and a social and fair future.
Together with the Rainforest Alliance developed Nespresso AAA Sustainable QualityTM Programme in 2003 and entered into a strategic partnership with Fairtrade. Added to this is the The brand's global recycling programme for its aluminium capsules.
„The B Corp certification reflects Nespresso's 30-year commitment to sustainability, transparency and responsible business practices. We are very proud to join a community of like-minded people who share our belief that profit and purpose go hand in hand. The certification brings added value to our customers and confirms to Nespresso fans that their favourite coffee brand is acting in the right way. Most importantly, the B Corp certification spurs us on to do more. It reinforces our commitment to our vision that every cup of Nespresso coffee has a positive impact on the world.“

„The B Corp certification process is a rigorous and independent assessment of a company's impact on people and the planet, ranging from its carbon footprint to how it treats its employees. B Corp certification is an important milestone for improvement and collective action, and Nespresso is consistently committed to realising this with the B Corp community. I congratulate Nespresso on the certification and hope that this will have a positive effect in encouraging the company's value chain to join the B Corp movement. As a movement aiming for systemic change, we look forward to supporting them on their journey towards an inclusive, just and regenerative economy.“
