
Coveris has appointed Dr Martin Berlekamp as the new Group Sustainability Director. He is responsible for the implementation of the Environmental Social Governance Agenda.
Coveris committed to a ‚No Waste‘ sustainability strategy a few years ago, which is based on Waste prevention in all its forms. As part of this strategy, the company recently founded the new business area ReCover, which offers unique recycling solutions for the packaging industry. With the appointment of renowned sustainability expert Dr Martin Berlekamp as Group Sustainability Director, Coveris has now created the basis for successfully implementing the company's own ESG (Environmental Social Governance) agenda and taking on a leading role in the area of sustainability in the packaging industry.
Dr Martin Berlekamp holds a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Münster and has Industry expertise and a proven track record in sustainability and ESG. As the former head of the sustainability department at adapa Group (formerly Schur Flexibles), Dr Martin Berlekamp spent more than five years driving forward effective sustainability initiatives.
His many years of experience in the global packaging industry include key positions in research and development (R&D), product management and technology development at industry leaders such as Klöckner Pentaplast and Liveo Research (formerly Bilcare Research). Through his Active involvement in important industry associations and working groups he has been and continues to be heavily involved in shaping the future of the packaging sector.
