New robotic pick-and-place platform

At Syntegon, the European premiere of the Robotics pick-and-place platform RPP in focus: The modular platform can supplement packaging lines by taking over product handling and/or product feeding.

It will be on display as part of a complete system (image). The SVE 2520 DZ vertical form, fill and seal machine weighs MagNuss pistachios before packing them in doy bags. However, the highly flexible machine also processes all other common bag formats. The RPP pick-and-place platform takes the bags, which are fed in lying flat, places them in the correct position and places five of them upright in carton trays that have been pre-formed by the Kliklok ACE carton erector. In addition to the tried-and-tested adhesive closure, the ACE also enables glue-free lock-style closures and therefore offers options for various carton formats. The individual components of the line on display can be configured in different ways, giving manufacturers additional scope to cater to current market trends with a wide range of packaging styles, formats and materials.

By the end of 2022, all Syntegon-machines for food packaging can process sustainable materials. The Kliklok ACE carton erector, for example, already produces paper trays for biscuits and thus offers a sustainable solution. Interesting alternative to conventional plastic trays. And the SVE on show can also process paper-based materials in addition to plastics, for example into pillow bags for frozen food and stand-up pouches or doy bags for dry food.
