A clear view with an X-ray inspection system from Ishida

Ishida launches a new X-ray inspection system onto the market. The IX-G2-F can also be used to detect low-density foreign bodies such as bones in poultry meat during production.

Ishida is launching a new X-ray inspection system onto the market. The IX-G2-F combines dual-energy technology and newly developed line sensors. This means that even low-density foreign bodies such as bones in poultry meat can be detected during production.

The IX-G2-F X-ray inspection system with dual-energy technology two energetically different radiation sources for use. They record signals with high or low energy from line sensors and then compare them. This creates an overall image with a clear contrast between the product and low-density foreign objects. Background effects caused by the product are eliminated and detection is optimised.

Ishida the system with new equipped with line sensors that enable a better X-ray image and thus increase detection performance fourfold compared to previous models.

On the trail of foreign bodies

IX-G2-F is suitable for foreign body inspection of thick, high-density poultry products such as chicken fillets or chicken breasts that overlap in the packaging or have uneven surfaces. Foreign body of only 0.6 mm in size are reliably detected at a belt speed of up to 60 m/min. The high detection performance also reduces the risk of misdetection. This maximises throughput and avoids costs caused by unnecessary waste and repackaging of products.

The patented technology of the Ishida X-ray inspection system IX- G2-F is based on a Software with a learning genetic algorithm. By analysing image data over several generations, the device achieves a very high level of accuracy. As recurring contamination usually occurs in food production, a more precise protocol for the calibration can be created with each test procedure. For calibration, it is sufficient to x-ray a test object two to three times.
