R.Weiss Packaging will provide an insight into its impressive portfolio of high-performance and innovative packaging solutions with the Unirob technology on display.
Based on a modular design in combination with intelligent control technology and simple mechanics, the company develops Efficient and highly flexible packaging systemsthat meet even the most complex challenges. The entire end-of-line packaging process is mapped.
On site shows R.Weiss an innovative sub-mixing system. With the help of this Unirob top-loading system, different varieties or flavours of a product are individually configured according to a predefined or individually adaptable, customer-specific mixing ratio and placed in groups in the PoS packaging using robots. The turnkey packaging system creates maximum efficiency in logistical processes, as the transport and sales packaging retains its perfect condition thanks to careful handling in the packaging process and can therefore be reused for the PoS. The material resources used are reused thanks to an ingenious packaging process, which is not only sustainable, but the mixed cartons also require less space on the sales shelf than single-variety product placements and therefore offer considerable cost-saving potential.
The products are fed into the Unirob system on several infeed belts, sorted by type, and grouped by the R.Weiss delta robots into corresponding format-based sorting systems. The product formations are then inserted into the original carton by a six-axis robot. After filling, the carton is fed to the lidding module, which is also robot-based and places the reused lids on top. Finally, the mixed cartons are placed back onto Euro pallets using a Unirob palletiser. Unirob toploading systems are also used for packaging diagnostic kits, for example (see picture).
The Bleichert company complements the R.Weiss portfolio with a driverless transport system with omnidirectional driving mode. This enables driving in small spaces through free navigation. It can transport up to 2,000 kilograms and can be combined with attached conveyor technology such as a roller conveyor.
