PepsiCo reduces disposable packaging

PepsiCo has committed to avoiding and minimising single-use packaging by the end of 2022. Various strategies are to contribute to the avoidance of single-use packaging. 

PepsiCo has committed to avoiding and minimising single-use packaging by the end of 2022. Various strategies such as the use of reusable and refillable bottles and containers, drinks that use concentrates or those that are sold in powder or drop form are intended to help avoid single-use packaging. 

The commitment was made as Reaction to a shareholder proposal submitted by As You Sow, in which the The company was asked to report on measures it could take to reduce its dependence on single-use plastic packaging. The focus should be on setting stronger targets for reusable packaging.

Company commits to higher goals

PepsiCo informed As You Sow that it was his Develop target based on careful assessments of system capacity, market opportunities, consumer preferences and other factors will. The announcement also includes the use of 50 per cent recycled content in its plastic packaging and the global expansion of the SodaStream business following the collaboration with As You Sow.
