The issue of sustainability is playing an increasingly important role for pet owners not only in their own lives, but also when it comes to animal welfare. A healthy and sustainable lifestyle can also include the sustainability of packaging. Ultra Premium Direct now uses recyclable bags from Coveris for its new pet food.
Ultra Premium Direct is a French manufacturer of natural pet food in the premium segment. The new Protein Boost product range combines grain-free dry food with freeze-dried pieces of chicken and trout. The company turned to the expertise in pioneering, sustainable packaging Coveris.
The MonoFlexE bags made of monomaterial are Fully recyclable and offer a high level of product protection and visibility on the shelf. The prefabricated bags are made from just one material, polythene, which simplifies recycling. The bags have same properties as those made from standard PET/PE materials. This keeps the pet food fresh for longer and preserves all the organoleptic properties for optimum flavour.
„We are extremely satisfied with our collaboration with Coveris for the launch of our new Protein Boost range. As our croquettes and the bags for the packaging are produced in France, we can offer our customers a product that is 100 per cent Made in France.“
DisplayClémence Lavenu, Product Manager at Ultra Premium Direct
The pet food is available in two bag sizes of 3 and 8 kg. „The zip closure with slider on the top makes it easy and safe to open and close our bags,“ explains Philippe Poudens, Key Account Manager at Coveris. This is in line with the growing demand for practical product features. The matt surface of the bag accentuates graphic elements, including the dog of the well-known French blogger Coralie, who runs the successful blog Elles en Parlent (People talk about it) and acts as a testimonial for the new pet food brand.
