Pilz receives certificate for approval in GB

Pilz has now had its modular safety relay myPNOZ certified by TÜV Süd with the UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessment). 

With Brexit, the guidelines for exporting products from Europe to the UK are changing. Pilz is now the first company to have its modular safety relay myPNOZ certified by TÜV Süd with the UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessment). 

This certification confirms that the modular safety relay in batch size 1 also conforms to standards in the UK market after January 2023 and is therefore ready for use is. As a result of Brexit, the CE mark previously used in the European Union will be replaced by the UKCA certificate in the United Kingdom (UK). TÜV South as an officially recognised testing body by the UK Government's Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), had UKCA conformity for the modular safety switching device myPNOZ already confirmed at the beginning of 2022.

Following successful approval, TÜV Süd will work together with Pilz Certify further devices from the PNOZ safety relay product family to UKCA. This means that even after the Brexit transition period ends on 1 January 2023, a comprehensive PNOZ portfolio will be available for import into the UK. The UKCA test mark replaces the CE mark of the EU internal market, which will continue to be accepted for product authorisation on the UK market until the end of 2022. UKCA certification will be mandatory for all products exported and sold to the UK (England, Wales and Scotland) after the end of the transition period.

The company has developed a new safety relay for its modular safety relay myPNOZ. Digital, end-to-end concept from selection to ordering is set up: With the safety device, solutions can be built to customer-specific requirements in batch size 1. The device monitors the emergency stop, safety gate, light curtain, two-hand (IIIA/C) and enabling switch safety functions and consists of a head module with up to eight freely combinable extension modules. In the associated online tool myPNOZ Creator, a customised safety solution can be put together from a wide range of possible variations.
