Glass is one of the oldest packaging materials and is becoming increasingly popular again today. The packaging material is used in various industries and for different products. Dorothée Richardt has been passionate about glass for 15 years now. In the podcast with packaging journal, the Head of Press and Public Relations at the German Glass Industry Association talks about the perception and possibilities of glass.
The Federal Association of the Glass Industry not only represents the container glass industry in Germany, but is also known for events such as the Glass Packaging Action Forum and the Glass Trend Day.
„The Glass Packaging Action Forum is a platform through which we basically organise all activities relating to container glass in the area of public relations. It is very important to us in the association. Another project is the Glass Trend Day, a congress event that we organise every year on the topic of glass, where we also give companies a forum to present their experiences with glass packaging.“

The company has not only expanded and internationalised, but is also focusing on new technologies.
Innovation is a major topic for the more traditional packaging material glass. Glass is becoming increasingly popular again and can be translated into current trends. This includes modern and contemporary packaging, which is then presented at the Glass Trend Day. The event offers companies the opportunity to present their products in glass packaging.

But glass packaging also has many advantages from the consumer's point of view and the image of glass packaging has strengthened again in recent years. Glass is well regarded by both the bottling industry and consumers, precisely because of its properties.
