The PrintCity Alliance is presenting three new mono-material packaging made of cardboard from the Better Human project. The samples will be shown for the first time in the Alliance web sessions at the virtual Drupa.
The new patterns continue the approach of reconciling high-quality packaging with the growing demands for environmental protection and sustainability. This includes new finishes as well as UV and LED-UV new production technologies.
The starting point is again the construction from a single material made from renewable raw materials and thus the avoidance of composite materials. As Replacement for the usual viewing window the advertised product is placed at the centre of the design on the packaging. A second, blue version of the earphones was produced Ear[th]buds and two versions of a disposable razor S[h]aver.
Better Human Packaging: safe and fully recyclable
The following is used lightweight Folding boxboard quality from virgin fibres. The finishes used (colours, varnishes, Iriodine, cold transfer, hot stamping) are also selected according to environmental aspects.
The used UV LED colour technology offers many advantages in terms of environmental compatibility and can also be combined with standard UV-FP coatings. This results in a wide range of finishes, which can also be used for indirect food contact.
With cold transfer and hot stamping, a Extremely thin aluminium layer applied. The traditionally used terms hot and cold foil are therefore incorrect. The carrier film, namely the „foil“, remains in operation and can be recycled.
