Alpla is expanding its recycling plant in Poland with a third extrusion line. The PET Recycling Team Radomsko is now one of the largest recycling plants in Europe and can increase its production capacity from 30,000 to 54,000 tonnes of food-grade PET recycling material.
The expansion of the recycling plant in Radomsko will secure Alpla the long-term supply of food-grade PET recycling material (rPET). The company invests around eight million euros in a modern extrusion line. Ten years after its opening, the PET Recycling Team (PRT) Radomsko is one of the largest recycling plants of its kind in Europe, with a production capacity of 54,000 tonnes of food-grade rPET pellets per year.
„Alpla stands for sustainable plastic packaging solutions. As a system provider, we develop products optimised for recycling, process a high proportion of recyclate during production and take care of efficient recycling. With our global focus on recycling and our commitment in Central and Eastern Europe, we make a significant contribution to the regional ‚bottle-to-bottle‘ cycle.“

From 2025, all PET beverage bottles in the EU are to contain at least 25 per cent post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. By expanding its site in Poland, the company is creating the basis for fulfilling the EU requirements in the regional markets. „We are actively working with our customers to establish closed loops for PET packaging and support them on their sustainability journey. To this end, we are already working today to meet the needs of tomorrow and already have a number of showcase examples,“ emphasises Mariusz Musiał, Alpla Country Manager Poland. „With this investment, we are particularly targeting the Polish market and ensure that our customers have sufficient rPET“ adds Beata Szynkiewicz-Razik, Commercial Director of PRT Radomsko.
The installation of the third extrusion line in Radomsko creates Twelve additional jobs and expands the team to more than 100 employees. „PRT Radomsko has stood for the highest quality and partnership-based cooperation for more than ten years. The expansion of the site is a confirmation of our highly motivated team and strengthens our position on the market,“ says plant manager Marcin Jabłoński.
