roTeg puts new production hall for robot systems into operation

The Dortmund-based manufacturer of robotic systems roTeg has built a new production hall. It is primarily used for the production of palletising robots. The space requirement had increased due to ever more extensive commissioning.

roTeg AG's new production hall is due to go into operation in February. The Dortmund-based company started building the additional 100 square metres of production space due to the good order situation. This will be accompanied by new recruitment.

The new hall will be used for the construction of robot systems. According to roTeg, additional space has long been lacking, not only for the construction of increasingly complex customised systems, but also for demo and pilot systems.

More space required because commissioning is now more extensive

Because the systems are becoming ever more complex and larger and have more functions, commissioning now takes longer than it used to. This also increases the amount of space required. This applies, for example, to the conveyor technology components for many package types and the standard industrial load carriers that roTeg offers. Increasingly, scanners for product tracking, label printers and stretchers are also being integrated into the systems.

Extensive commissioning is also required when Industry 4.0 components are integrated into the systems. If a connection to the customer's ERP systems is desired, the products to be palletised would have to be tracked error-free throughout the entire processing sequence.

Launched in 1993 as a robotics provider

roTeg was founded in 1993 and made a name for itself as a supplier of robot technology. The company specialises in palletising technology and pallet conveyor technology in particular. The North Rhine-Westphalian company emphasises that its palletising robots are particularly easy to operate and work reliably in conjunction with gripper technology and control software.

roTeg guarantees the availability and process reliability of its Paro palletising robots with robust designs and control software that constantly self-diagnoses the device functionality and any faults.

The user interface is kept as simple as possible. Product changes and even new packing schemes are easily set up by the operators. The use of multifunctional grippers also eliminates the need to change grippers.
