At this year's Fachpack, the Hessian mechanical engineering company Rovema is presenting its BVC series solutions for packaging coffee in a wide variety of forms - whether as beans, ground or freeze-dried.
The BVC series stands for vertical packaging machines with continuous operation and packs a wide variety of products quickly and gently, for example in up to 210 flat bags per minute. Rovema places a special focus on preparing machines and systems for future packaging tasks. The company regards the use of sustainable packaging materials and the production of a wide variety of bag shapes on just one machine as standard. Changeover work and set-up times are continuously optimised and also tested with challenging packaging materials. The adaptation of existing machines to new, recyclable packaging materials is generally possible for the BVC series without any major loss of performance.
Coffee, coffee, coffee
On the Specialist pack in Nuremberg shows Rovema A BVC 260 specially designed for packaging coffee - ground coffee, coffee beans, agglomerated or freeze-dried coffee can be processed gently and accurately by weight. For coffee applications that require a degassing valve, the machine is equipped with the high-performance new Rovema valve applicator for button valves. In combination with a mono PP packaging material, the BVC 260 achieves an output of up to 70 pouches per minute with a filling weight of 250 grams, according to the company.
Packaging materials from the flat film web are used and the flavour valve is attached in the roll carrier of the packaging machine. The process enables an even wider sealing window, which can be customised to the requirements of the respective packaging material and the selected button valve. Depending on the valve or packaging material, the machine can be equipped with both ultrasonic and heat sealing. It is also possible to switch to a different valve geometry or a different valve manufacturer by adapting the valve feed accordingly during a format change.
