Rovema presents a solution for packaging frozen food: the Rovema Revo S machine. The continuous flow-wrapping machine in the Revo series has a modular design and is available as a simple variant for small budgets through to specialised machines with inclined filling tube for particularly gentle packaging of fragile products.

Convertible to Continuous or intermittent packaging, the machine can also reliably process demanding packaging materials such as paper. The Rovema Revo is available with Siemens or B&R machine control as standard.

On the Hispack 2022, which begins on 24 May in Barcelona, Rovema will be showing a Flat pouch solution made of kraft paper with water vapour barrier for the deep-freeze industry. A Mondi kraft paper that can be disposed of via the paper recycling stream is used.

Barrier papers pack frozen food

Mondi's functional barrier papers can be used in particular for FMCG applications and as a replacement for plastic films and laminates can be used. The application demonstrated at the trade fair achieves an output of up to 130 flat bags per minute and can be retrofitted to existing Revo S machines.

The range of recyclable functional barrier paper solutions replaces plastic with a renewable raw material that is specific mechanical properties such as puncture resistance, flexibility, printability and barrier protection is characterised. The coating technologies applied to these papers create individual barriers against grease and water vapour and ensure sealability.

The production of functional barrier papers is fully integrated into the value chain of Mondi integrated - from paper production to barrier application - and can be on existing filling lines can be used for form-fill-and-seal (FFS) applications.
