In the healthcare sector, it is often the case that certain medicines are only filled in small quantities. Schreiner Medipharm has a solution in its portfolio for labelling vials that is nevertheless easy to handle.

The healthcare company Octapharma relies on a new, automated application system from Schreiner Medipharm to efficiently label small batches of its vials and infusion bottles. The semi-automatic dispensing system fulfils the pharmaceutical manufacturer's requirement for a fast and precise solution, with which he can label small quantities and different containers flexibly, quickly and with consistent quality.

The customised labelling system enables the automated labelling of vials and infusion bottles in different sizes, diameters and shapes. It can be customised, is quick to convert, easy to operate and requires little space. Octapharma is able to label small batch sizes and many varieties, for example for small markets, different language variants or clinical trial preparations, in a time-saving manner.

The dispensing system can process all glass containers, from very small vials with narrow radii to large bottles. Container diameters from a minimum of 15 millimetres to a maximum of 170 millimetres are possible. The bottle height to be processed depends on the bottle shape and is between 35 and 250 millimetres.

The long-standing customer is already using several of these labelling systems from Schreiner Medipharm. „We can efficiently label all products, from the smallest vials to large bottles, to a high and above all uniform quality. Compared to previous manual application processes, this noticeably reduces the workload for our employees. The handling of small batch sizes is thus professionalised and significantly more economical,“ says Brigitta Nehrer, Head of Production and Deputy Head of Visual Inspection & Packaging Operations at Octapharma.
