With a prefabricated software solution from B&R, machine builders can implement pick-and-place applications without major investment risk. The pick-and-place process solution from mapp Robotics makes machines faster, more flexible and more efficient.
Pick-and-place robots open up new degrees of freedom for designers when designing production processes. In particular, machines that for the production of small quantities down to batch size 1 and high product variance benefit from automated handling that is synchronised with the processes down to the microsecond.
Configuring instead of programming
To create such applications, Austrian automation specialist B&R offers a ready-made software solution for pick-and-place robots from the mapp Technology modular software system. This allows applications to be configured intuitively by selecting ready-made function blocks. As with other mapp applications, these are linked together in the editor so that an executable robotics application is created within a few minutes.
In-depth robotics expertise is not required. Coordination with other axes, track systems, the B&R vision system or the web-based mapp View visualisation can be set up with just a few clicks. So that eliminates a large part of the manual programming work. The development time is shortened.
Maximum freedom in process design
The mapp software solution for pick-and-place offers maximum freedom in process design. This means that any number of Delta robots can be used. The number of conveyor belts for infeed and outfeed is also freely configurable. As a special highlight, the software automatically optimises the process for a maximum pick rate.
