The sustainability report from paper and packaging manufacturer Stora Enno has once again made it into the top ten of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
The WBCSD praises the report as it is clearly aligned with the company's sustainability agenda. The report's strengths are the disclosure of trends in the external environment and the use of graphics to illustrate progress towards sustainability goals.
„It is very pleasing to see that Stora Enso's long-term efforts to continuously develop our sustainability reporting have once again been recognised. We remain committed to clear and transparent sustainability reporting to engage with all our partners. We are always striving to take our reporting to the next level and this work will continue“.
Annette Stube, EVP Sustainability at Stora Enso.
What others can learn from it
A good report must not only be informative and balanced, but also easy to understand for all readers, says Stora Enno spokesperson Ulrike Lilja. This builds trust in the brand as long as you endeavour to find appealing and visually convincing ways to convey extensive and sometimes complex information.
The WBCSD lists Stora Enso's sustainability report as one of the ten best in the world among the 158 reports reviewed as part of the publication, without disclosing the exact ranking.
The Stora Enso Annual Report 2019 consists of the sections Strategy, Finance, Sustainability, Governance and Summary.
