The original aim of the first edition of LabelExpo in 1980 was to provide a forum for the growing importance of labelling and marking. Back then in London, and now for almost 25 years in Brussels, LabelExpo Europe has developed into the world's largest event specifically for the labelling and packaging industry. This year marks the 40th anniversary edition of LabelExpo.

This is deliberately about the international exchange, LabelExpo sees itself as an international pan-European event that primarily aims to bring together decision-makers from the industry in Brussels: manufacturers, suppliers and potential customers. According to the organisers, more than 37,000 visitors from 125 countries attended last year. Figures that are sure to rise again in the anniversary year.

About 600 exhibitors have registered for this year's LabelExpo. From 24 to 27 September 2019, they will be presenting new products and a wide range of services for the labelling and packaging printing market in nine halls.

Special Edition: 40 years of LabelExpo

As in previous years, special emphasis will be placed on Live demonstrations is laid. New machines and systems will be on display as much as possible. Numerous events and get-togethers will also invite visitors to exchange ideas and network. And, of course, the trade fair anniversary will also play a special role.

Display

Of course, at an event that aims to show trends, you shouldn't wallow in the past for too long. So this year's motto is „Move your business foward“. This clearly outlines the aim of this year's LabelExpo: the exchange on topics such as Industry 4.0, digitalisation, sustainability and green packaging should result in new market strategies and concepts to drive forward one's own company and, at the same time, the industry.

Networking at a high level

For the anniversary edition, three different areas have been designed to encourage networking. In the Flexible Packaging Arena for example, live demonstrations in the food sector will be presented three times a day. At the same time, visitors will be able to see the advantages of digital labelling, particularly in relation to UV colouring.

Anyone who has had enough of the hustle and bustle of the fair can relax in the Sustainability Insight Cafe about sustainable green packaging trends. And as part of the Brand Innovation Showcase, which takes place over two days this year, brand owners and designers can listen to presentations by experts and make further contacts over lunch afterwards.

Premiere: Label Academy Master Classes

For the first time in Brussels Half-day training courses offered. From different packaging concepts and options in terms of flexibility, substance, colour and material selection to digitised label printing, visitors can get hands-on and expand their knowledge in this area of the show. Another workshop, led by LabelExpo Strategic Director Andy Thomas-Eman, will present the benefits of new adhesives.

Label Industry Global Awards: two new categories

And there will also be plenty of celebrations in the anniversary year: the Label Industry Global Awards will traditionally be presented on the first evening of the trade fair. They honour companies that have made a special contribution to the industrial development of labelling. In the anniversary year, the „Rising Star Award“ for an up-and-coming talent in the industry and the award „European Converter of the Year“ awarded.
