Südpack is presenting packaging concepts for the food industry at Pack Expo in Las Vegas. Film from Südpack will also be processed into stand-up pouches with zipper reclosure on a horizontal pouch packaging machine at the stand of PPi Technologies, the US representative of SN Maschinenbau.
This year, Südpack's exhibition focus is on sustainable packaging concepts for the food industry, among other things, because The topic of sustainability is also gaining momentum on the US American continent. This is why the company is increasingly focussing on its portfolio of material-efficient and recyclable packaging concepts.
With a large selection of high-performance monomaterials, films made from renewable resources and particularly thin and therefore resource-saving film structures, the manufacturer is also making its mark on the US market. Stand-up pouches, flow packs or thermoformed packaging can be equipped with different functionalities and barrier properties, so that the respective products can be securely packaged against external influences. Easy opening and reclosing of the packs can be achieved, for example, by using the tried-and-tested Multipeel film concepts.
Südpack's Oak Creek-based site has its own printing and laminating facilities and is the company's first location on the American continent. It was acquired by Seville Flexpack in 2017 and has since been integrated into the Südpack Group in several stages.
Together with SN Maschinenbau and its US representative PPi Technologies Group, Südpack is also presenting an attractive solution for the efficient and sustainable packaging of products such as beef jerky, dried sausages, grated cheese, nuts, snacks and non-food products in practical stand-up pouches with zipper reclosure. As the film and the zipper reclosure are based entirely on PE, the packaging can be recycled as a genuine single-material solution.
Due to a relatively wide processing window, the efficient packaging at high cycle rates is ensured without any problems on common standard machines. The high-performance FM 060 horizontal pouch packaging machine from SN Maschinenbau will be used in Las Vegas. This horizontally operating rotary model enables the production of flat pouches and bottom gusset pouches as well as stand-up pouches.
