Schreiner Group will be presenting sustainable laboratory solutions for the pharmaceutical industry at CPhI Frankfurt. The company pays particular attention to recycled and sustainable raw materials, pure recycling and the reduction of CO2-emissions. At the trade fair, for example, the Group will be presenting the Pharma-Tac label for infusion solutions with an integrated hanger.
The newly developed labelling concepts based on existing functional labels include, for example, a Pharma-Tac label for infusion bottles with an integrated hanger and removable documentation parts - as well as a Auto-injector label for injection systems that has an anti-slip function has. The environmentally friendly versions of both product solutions use film materials that are either recycled or made from renewable raw materials.
Extensive tests in our in-house R&D department with regard to hanging tests, adhesion, colour adhesion, print resistance and laser marking prove that the new materials used work just as reliably as the previous ones. This enables problem-free processing in pharmaceutical production and reliable functionality in the end application.
The product carbon footprint (PCF) was also calculated for the two sustainable labelling concepts. This involves calculating the CO2-emissions of a product are analysed from the raw materials through production to delivery („cradle-to-gate“) and the influence of end-of-life scenarios („cradle-to-grave“) is taken into account. Based on the knowledge gained and with the help of the qualified materials Schreiner MediPharm in the position, design and develop customised solutions that are sustainable („integrated sustainability“), keep an eye on the product life cycle („cradle-to-cradle“) and actively support a sustainable supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry.
