Tetra Pak has already sold over half a billion packages of the „Tetra Rex“ brand, which was launched in October 2014. The beverage carton made exclusively from renewable raw materials has even found its way into museums. It has been on display in a new sustainability exhibition at the Museum of Brands in London since February 2018.
The Tetra-Rex beverage carton consists of FSC-certified cardboard from controlled sources and from Plastics made from sugar cane were produced. All raw materials can be traced back to their origin, emphasises Tetra Pak.
Tetra Pak Product Director Christina Chester points out the economic benefits of sustainable packaging: „Packaging made entirely from renewable raw materials is not only good for the planet, but also for brands that want to stand out by being more sustainable. Environmental protection and sustainability want to differentiate themselves from their competitors.“ Chris Griffin, CEO of the Museum of Brands, confirms this view: „Offering more sustainable packaging comes at a time when environmental sustainability is important to consumers and people want to make environmentally sound choices.“
