Rieke presents a new tamper-evident closure that offers product and brand protection. The IMF-5 In-Mould Flexspout is a closure for plastic buckets and gives customers the ability to see if the product has been tampered with.
According to Europol, the EU's law enforcement agency, counterfeit products account for around 2.5 per cent of global trade - equivalent to a value of 461 billion dollars. The list of counterfeit products is long: it ranges from high-end luxury goods such as watches, perfumes and leather goods to everyday consumer goods such as toys, medicines, cosmetics and food, as well as industrial goods such as machinery, spare parts and even chemicals. Rieke has now added a new solution to its range of tamper-evident closures to effectively support original equipment manufacturers in their fight against product fraud.
The company's latest product, the next generation IMF-5 Flexspout for plastic buckets, will be moulded directly into the bucket lid during the injection moulding process. This permanent connection between the closure and the lid makes it impossible to tamper with or break without being noticed - this guarantees maximum product and brand protection for manufacturers. In addition, the IMF-5 is characterised by its first-class leak-proof design and the integrated tamper-proof pull ring, which ensures safe product dispensing at all times.
When developing the IMF-5 Flexspout, the focus was not only on product safety, but also on the functionality of the fastener for the customer. The IMF-5 has a Extendable pouring spout with a large pouring opening for controlled, directed dispensing, This makes it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications such as automotive oils and lubricants, paints and coatings, adhesives and cleaning chemicals. In addition, the next generation closure is made from a special blend of materials that allows for improved flexibility and suitability for cold weather applications. With its flat design, the IMF-5 can be easily stacked and installed robotically - for efficient, cost-saving processing. As the IMF-5 is made entirely of plastic and polyethylene, the closure can be easily recycled, making it a sustainable alternative to spouts made of mixed materials.
„The IMF-5 really is an all-in-one solution. We are delighted to be able to support our customers in their fight against counterfeiting with a highly effective solution. This next-generation in-mould FLEXSPOUT guarantees safety, security and exceptional product and brand protection while ensuring ease of use and sustainable waste management.“
