The Maspex Wadowice Group is the first company to introduce the domeTwist closure with tethered cap from SIG for the combidome carton pack. The companies are strengthening their partnership and implementing an EU directive on closures for single-use beverage packaging, which comes into force in July 2024, ahead of schedule.

The Maspex Wadowice Group is the first company to offer the domeTwist closure with tethered cap (domeTwist TC) from SIG for the combidome carton pack. The company recently launched Tymbark Vega juices in the combidome 500 ml carton bottle with domeTwist TC. This was followed shortly afterwards by Tymbark juices in combidome 1,000 ml with tethered cap.

The domeTwist closure with tethered cap makes no compromises when it comes to convenience for consumers. Equally, the Caps are compatible with existing SIG filling systems and cap applicators - another good example of the flexibility and adaptability of the packaging and filling solutions, which go hand in hand with minimised costs for customers. This offers maximum planning and investment security for European beverage producers such as Maspex, who have to fulfil EU regulatory requirements.

"Maspex is always striving to continuously improve production technologies and the product range in order to offer optimal and sustainable solutions. With Tymbark juices in the unique combidome carton bottle with domeTwist tethered cap from SIG, Maspex offers increasingly environmentally conscious consumers the opportunity to do their bit to minimise plastic waste in the environment."

The domeTwist closure with tethered cap can be fixed in the desired position by pushing it towards the pack until the "park mode" is reached. The cap does not need to be held in place so that the consumer can drink comfortably from the pack without the cap getting in the way. To close the cap, it simply needs to be lifted slightly before it can be closed in the usual way. Tethered caps also provide additional convenience, as the fastener is always to hand and cannot get lost can. Market research confirms a high level of consumer acceptance for both drinking and pouring.

"It's not just consumers who are becoming more environmentally aware, but also retailers. Customers like Maspex are increasingly being confronted by European regulators with demands for more sustainable packaging - especially when it comes to single-use plastic. By working closely together, Maspex and SIG are one step ahead of the legislation, as both companies are doing everything they can to make products even more sustainable."

The domeTwist closure with tethered cap for combidome is one of three closure innovations for SIG's most popular packs in Europe. The combiSwift and combiMaxx closures with tethered cap are also available for the family packs.
