Since 2003, the CPhI Pharma Awards The awards recognise outstanding achievements in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry, and this year's digital event was no exception. The prestigious awards ceremony recognised the individuals, teams and organisations in each category that are working to move the industry forward.
The award
This year's awards were presented in fourteen categories, including - fittingly - pharmaceutical packaging. The following criteria were taken into account: Innovation in technologies, products, processes and services related to the primary and secondary packaging of finished dosage forms and the delivery of medicines to patients. These include inhalers, autoinjectors, vials, syringes, plasters, combination products, tamper-proof packaging, child-resistant packaging, labelling, intelligent packaging and fill-finish.
The winner was the Schott Smart Container
The Schott Smart Container Set is made for the industry of the future. The glass containers, which are laser-marked with a Data Matrix code, ensure traceability along the entire value chain. They are easy and cost-effective to use on filling lines and do not affect production speed in any way. This also allows manufacturers to use large amounts of data for analysis and to record relevant data at various points in the fill-and-finish process.
