At Anuga FoodTec, Multivac will be showcasing the TopClose process, with which trays are closed with self-adhesive labels on a labeller. The process is automated and works without a packaging machine. 

If fruit and vegetables are not packaged in a modified atmosphere or airtight in a vacuum, self-adhesive labels are the ideal way to prevent the tray contents from falling out or being removed. The Multivac Thanks to a special manufacturing process, TopClose labels have the following properties Adhesive-free zones on the inside, which means they are approved for direct food contact. They can be fitted with a tear tab and a reclosure option and are suitable for both square and round trays.

The TopClose process is implemented on the L 330 conveyor belt labeller and makes it possible to print labels with variable data and check the print. The label closes the trays automatically as they pass through, after the trays have been fed in manually or transferred from an upstream module. The The conveyor belt labeller can be quickly and easily adapted to different tray shapes and sizes without the need to change tools possible. Conversion to alternative products and the insertion of new labels also mean minimal downtime, as the labeller is extremely easy to adjust thanks to intuitive position indicators.

„The high-performance L 330 conveyor belt labeller can save costs compared to complex manual solutions or packaging machines and seals up to 250 packs per minute. This also minimises food waste.
