The world's largest supplier of hybrid packaging made of glass, plastic and metal is continuing to work on its business in Northern Europe. The company has now announced the takeover of beverage packaging manufacturer Vinkova from the Netherlands.
This is Berlin Packaging's eighth acquisition in Europe in just four years. According to the US group, the acquisition is intended to strengthen its range of glass packaging on the local markets.
Vinkova is the leading supplier of glass packaging in the Netherlands and can look back on over 50 years of company history.
„We are thrilled to be part of the Berlin Packaging family. This is a case of a strong company becoming stronger as we can now be the market leader in all categories“
André Rombout, Director of Vinkova B.V.
As a result of the takeover by Berlin Packaging, Vinkova's customers will now have access to more than 130 sales and warehouse locations as well as the US company's design and innovation centres.
Shopping spree probably continues
For Berlin Packaging, this will probably not be the last stop on its European shopping tour. Bill Hayes, CEO and President of the Chicago-based group, said that expansion in Europe is a declared goal of the growth strategy.
