The natural cosmetics trade fair Vivaness and the organic food trade fair Biofach will take place in Nuremberg from 14 to 17 February 2023. In addition to all kinds of innovations and a lively exchange of ideas, visitors can also look forward to numerous start-ups that will bring a breath of fresh air to the industry.

„Vivaness and Biofach are the focal point for new products, trends, innovations and food for thought. The community comes together in the exhibition halls and at the congress to discuss the most relevant topics and exchange ideas,“ says Danila Brunner, Director of the twin trade fairs. „The two subsidised joint stands for young innovative companies are a particular highlight every year, the Breeze special show and the innovation stands. It is impressive and inspiring to experience the dynamism of the young start-ups in dialogue and to discover products from the newcomers and pioneers at the innovations stand.“

Anyone looking at the product range of the start-ups at the „Innovation made in Germany“ pavilion at Vivaness 2023 will repeatedly come across terms such as: Solid Cosmetics, Zero Waste, Circular Beauty, Vegan or Pure. However, the start-ups live and breathe organic beyond the product. Behind the companies are philosophies, ideas and strategies that strive for holistically sustainable products as a result. From the supply chain and production to the corporate culture.

In the spirit of sustainability

The newcomers are not only focussing on their own sustainable production. The start-ups actively contribute to climate protection by financing various projects. The company Teethlovers, for example, plants a tree seedling for every product sold. At Vivaness, they are presenting their dental care powder in sustainable packaging. At the start-up Rose and Ann own energy requirements are covered by green electricity. Consumption is recorded and continuously reduced. The newcomers Spirit of Rügen use solar energy from their own photovoltaic system and keep transport routes short by mainly using regional ingredients or growing them themselves in their medicinal herb garden.

Many start-ups reduce packaging and ingredients to the essentials - all the ingredients contained in the product are also active ingredients. Mari&Anne, for example, also relies on „Do More Less“. For their products, they use the smallest possible amount of water and 100 per cent natural ingredients, which are also biodegradable and vegan or vegetarian. The company has also set itself the goal of establishing a business that supports people with Down's syndrome. The impetus for this came from daughter Marina, who has Down's syndrome herself and for whom an official inclusion job was created in 2021.

Start-ups and young companies from Germany will be presenting themselves and their products at Vivaness and Biofach at the joint „Innovation made in Germany“ stands. This is subsidised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). Here, 15 Vivaness and 35 Biofach start-ups will be presenting new products for visitors to try out live and discover with all their senses. Visitors can meet international start-ups in the special Breeze area.
