Walther Faltsysteme is announcing the first plastic folding box with sunflower seed fibres for its appearance at LogiMAT 2019. The Kevelaer-based company will also be showcasing a reusable folding box for Logistics 4.0 that is equipped with in-mould barcode labels, RFID tags and data loggers.
The intelligent Folding box provides Walther folding systems customised for the customer. Depending on the equipment, it records data such as impact loads, temperature parameters and accelerations. The temperature sensors could, for example, be coupled with a special label that changes colour as soon as the temperature tolerance is exceeded or not reached.
Walther Faltsysteme emphasises the sustainability aspect with the box „Greenline +“. Through the use of the „Sunflower Compounds“, a product made entirely from recycled material and renewable raw materials is now on offer. Company boss Thomas Walther explains: „We have been conducting intensive application research in the field of sustainable packaging logistics for years and can therefore fulfil our customers' desire for more sustainable packaging. Sustainability with consistent quality. It is also important to us that the renewable filler is a by-product of food production and therefore does not compete with food.“
Another product in the range of sustainable plastic folding boxes
The new Plastic folding box is one of a series of sustainable products that Walther Faltsysteme has introduced in recent years. Last year, the company presented a product that was made from 93 per cent renewable raw materials.
On the LogiMAT Walther Faltsysteme will also be showcasing its other product range via the new, intelligent box made from sustainable materials. After all, the manufacturer boasts the „world's largest variety of foldable reusable solutions“.
