Schümann will be presenting its complete wet adhesive collection at Fachpack. The focus will be on the end customer-friendly versions with integrated easy-opening function.
Whether unreinforced or with a reinforcing scrim: the wet adhesive strips from Schümann offer a solution for the Tamper-proof, dust-tight and environmentally friendly sealing of cardboard packaging made from corrugated and solid board. They are available in many different designs and support the realisation of sustainable supply chains in both traditional wholesale and retail as well as in e-commerce.
With numerous exhibits, Schümann will be presenting all currently available types of its current wet adhesive tape portfolio at the trade fair. The focus will be on the unreinforced variants that The Easy-Opening function enables the cartons to be opened quickly by hand. The central element of this function is a white tear strip, which is integrated into the wet adhesive tapes at the factory in a slightly wavy shape and allows the recipient to tear the tape without tools. They do not need a cutter, scissors or a lot of muscle power to do this.
Optional printed orientation arrows also indicate the optimum tearing or pulling direction. The Wave-shaped laying of the tear-open thread guarantees problem-free tearing even if the fastening tapes are not exactly centred.
Simple application ensured
The tear strip is used in the production of the wet adhesive tape at the Schümann plant in Stadtallendorf. incorporated as a functional component. No additional process effort is required for the subsequent application of the sealing strip to the cardboard packaging.
Wet adhesive rolls with easy-opening function are just as easy to apply as all other Schümann tapes. For small and medium package quantities, they are usually applied with manual dispensers or semi-automatic dispensing systemswhich are also part of the Schümann belong. In mass production logistics, the wet adhesive rolls are clamped in fully automated throughfeed systems and applied by machine.
The wet adhesive tapes with tear strip are unreinforced and are suitable for for closing cardboard boxes with unit weights of up to 12 kg. The size of the parcels and packages is of secondary importance. The length of the sealing tape running from the roll can always be cut to the exact length required so that both very small and very large parcels can be sealed with it.
The wet adhesive tapes with tear strip are made of white or brown kraft paper as standard, can also be printed in colour at the customer's request - with texts, graphics, logos or even logistics codes for shipment tracking.
Manipulations clearly identifiable
The adhesive effect of all wet adhesive tapes is based on an adhesive applied to the underside, initially dry coating made from potato starch glue. Immediately before application, it is activated in the dispenser, dispenser or machine by wetting with water. After briefly pressing on, the adhesive layer bonds to the surface of the cardboard. The wet adhesive strip can then only be torn open destructively. Any attempt to remove it leaves clearly visible traces. Broken cardboard packaging is clearly recognisable and can be ejected from the supply chain.
This means that the wet adhesive tapes from Schümann a high level of protection against tampering. Unlike plastic tapes, they cannot be outwitted with thermal tricks. In addition to manufacturers and distributors of natural products and foodstuffs, producers of medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and hygiene products in particular value this seal-like property of wet adhesive tapes. It is also an advantage when shipping valuable components or documents.
