For its automation platform i3 Control, the mechanical engineering company Yaskawa has now presented its first products: a specially developed software environment and the first servo axis controller compatible with the platform.
As a first anticipation of the continuously growing i³ Control portfolio, the specially developed software environment - i³ Engineer - and the first machine controller of this new platform - the iC9200 series - are now making their world premiere. The market launch is planned from the beginning of 2023.
The i³ Engineer engineering software opens up the entire platform, which is characterised by Openness, flexibility and scalability on the basis of a Linux-based operating system. Programming languages according to IEC61131-3 and PLCopen function blocks are supported as well as the scripting languages C#, C++, Python or MATLAB Simulink. This opens up new possibilities for the development of customised applications, even in global teams.
i³ Control is designed as a modern motion concept and is now being gradually expanded into a comprehensive overall system for motion and automation. The iC9212M-EC machine controllers are now available for synchronised control of up to 16 servo axes. Robotics will be integrated from spring 2023. The safety version will follow in summer 2023.
The goal is A universal platform, which the machine manufacturer can use to access all functions - from frequency inverter control, motion control and safety to robot programming and control. in the same neighbourhood can access.
