Riccardo Gobbis has taken over the management of Vetropack Italia with effect from 1 April 2025. The experienced glass industry manager is tasked in particular with realising the potential of the modern production facility in Boffalora and further strengthening the Italian business.
Vetropack Group, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of glass packaging, has appointed Riccardo Gobbis as the new Managing Director of Vetropack Italia S.r.l.. With his many years of experience in the glass industry, Mr Gobbis will assume responsibility for the company's Italian business activities. The aim is to further expand the market position in a challenging environment and to strategically develop the state-of-the-art production facility in Boffalora sopra Ticino.
Experienced expert for production optimisation
Riccardo Gobbis was most recently Director of Global Manufacturing Excellence at an international glass packaging manufacturer. In this role, he led a global team focussing on increasing efficiency and improving performance in over 60 plants worldwide. Previously, as Head of Regional Manufacturing Excellence, he was responsible for optimising European sites and was Regional Manufacturing Director for eleven plants in Italy and Hungary.

Boffalora at the centre of the growth strategy
In his new role, Gobbis will focus primarily on the further development of the production facility in Boffalora sopra Ticino, which will open in 2023. The plant is regarded as one of the most modern and sustainable facilities of its kind in Europe.
