Packsize is expanding its portfolio in the field of automated packaging solutions with the acquisition of Sparck Technologies.

Packsize, provider of sustainable on-demand packaging solutions, has announced the acquisition of Sparck Technologies. Sparck, based in Drachten (Netherlands), is a European manufacturer of automated, customised packaging systems for high throughput requirements. With this transaction, Packsize aims to further expand its global market leadership in automated packaging technology.

The aim of the integration is to expand the existing range of the proven solutions from Sparck to be expanded. These include in particular the CVP Impack and CVP Everest systems, which produce precisely fitting cardboard packaging automatically, thus reducing both material consumption and filling material.

Complementary technologies, common sustainability goal

The management teams of both partners emphasise the strategic logic of the merger. According to David Lockwood, CEO of Packsize, Sparck not only brings technological expertise, but also shares core corporate values such as innovation orientation and a focus on sustainability. The acquisition therefore not only serves to expand the business, but also to accelerate the realisation of Packsize's mission: „Smart Packaging for a Healthy Planet“.

Brian Reinhart, Chief Revenue Officer at Packsize, sees the acquisition as a targeted expansion of the range of solutions - particularly for customers with high efficiency requirements. With Sparck technologies, even more application scenarios can now be covered and a higher degree of automation achieved.

„The perfect addition“

Sparck Technologies emerged in 2021 from a spin-off of the former owner Quadient. Under the investment company Standard Investment, the company was repositioned and further developed as an independent provider. During this time, Sparck was able to significantly strengthen its market position in the automated customised packaging technology segment.

Kees Oosting, CEO of Sparck Technologies, sees the integration as a „perfect match“ that will enable both companies to respond more quickly and efficiently to the requirements of global customers.
