At Cosmetic Business 2026 in Munich (10-11 June 2026), packaging manufacturers will present new concepts for cosmetic products, focusing on recyclability, refillability, and product protection. According to the organiser, the trade fair will showcase current developments along the entire value chain – from ingredients to packaging solutions for skincare, make-up, and premium cosmetics.

Cosmetic packaging is increasingly focusing on recyclable materials, reduced material usage, and added functional benefits. At the same time, solutions that protect sensitive formulations or bring together different ingredients only upon application are gaining importance.

Focus on recyclability and refill systems

Aptar Beauty is presenting „Astrea“, an airless glass dispenser, which the company states is designed to protect high-quality formulations while reducing plastic consumption. The glass dispenser combines a transparent glass body with a metal-free pump and is intended to be recyclable via the glass recycling stream after use.

Quadpack is also embracing reusable concepts. According to the company, the „Arena Glass Refill Jar“ is made from 30 percent recycled glass and features a refillable inner part made from mono-material polypropylene. In addition, the company is showcasing a refillable makeup pen made from polypropylene with a snap-on mechanism.

Treffpack is introducing a spray system called „Flairosol“ which operates without propellant gas and is designed to produce a fine mist. According to the company, the spray head is durable and reusable, while the bottle is refillable and fully recyclable.

Packaging should strengthen brand impact

Alongside sustainability, the presentation of products also plays a significant role. The Edelmann Group is showcasing fibre-based packaging with elaborately designed opening mechanisms and additional printing surfaces, which the company states are intended to enhance the brand message.

MM Packaging presents packaging solutions with finishing effects such as gold hot foil stamping and holographic metallisation effects. FSC-certified cardboard is used.

Freshness protection and application in focus

Several exhibitors are also showcasing packaging systems for sensitive formulations. Tianshi is presenting a dual-chamber pump dispenser where powders and liquids are stored separately and only mixed upon application. This is intended to keep sensitive active ingredients stable. Additionally, the company is presenting a self-sealing pump to protect against air ingress and contamination.

Albéa is showcasing thermoplastic elastomer applicators for precise dosing and visible product application. The systems are designed to adapt to different brand requirements and are produced in Europe, according to the company.
