IPV, FFI and other paper and board processing associations under one roof

Several paper and cardboard processing associations have joined forces to form an office community in the centre of Frankfurt.

Since May 2025, „Kleine Hochstraße 8“ has been the new joint address of the Industrieverband Papier- und Folienverpackung (IPV), the Fachverband Faltschachtel-Industrie (FFI), the European Core and Tube Association (ECTA), the Gemeinschaft Papiersackindustrie (GemPSI), the Fachvereinigung Hartpapierwaren und Rundgefäße (FHR) and the Arbeitskreis Display. IPV Managing Director Karsten Hunger and FFI Managing Director Christian Schiffers are delighted about the joint alliance.

„At the many cross-association meetings, it became clear time and again that the associations in the packaging industry often have to deal with the same or similar issues and challenges. It therefore makes sense to intensify cooperation. And if the associations are also based in Frankfurt, why not bring them together under one roof?“

Karsten Hunger

„We are naturally focussing on thematic synergy effects through shorter distances. Everyone knows efficient solutions to problems at the coffee machine within a short working distance. This ensures an uncomplicated increase in collaboration and rapid communication.“

Christian Schiffers

Associations retain their independence

Both managing directors also see opportunities in benefiting from each other's knowledge and many years of experience. This offers the opportunity to break out of familiar thought patterns and develop creative, target-orientated solutions, they say. The growing bureaucracy, particularly at European level, increases the urgency of joint association work. The successful cooperation has already been in place for several years, for example for member information and selected online seminars. The good working relationship is now being further expanded. Joint positions can thus be developed and harmonised in the shortest possible time and on the basis of the best sources for all associations in a personnel-efficient manner. While synergies are utilised for overarching topics, the associations retain their independence and the ability to provide their member companies with individual material and product-specific support.
